I AM TODAY'S #NUEVALATINA

I AM THE #NuevaLatina !
This past Wednesday Procter & Gamble’s Orgullosa program launched a new (fabulous) Campaign, Nueva Latina - a movement to celebrate and empower today’s modern Latina (like you and me)!

To kick off it's campaign, Orgullosa presented the "Nueva Latina Monologues" at the Hellen Mills Theater. The program teamed up with popular Latina director and writer, Linda Nieves-Powell, to reenact some real-life stories, topics and cultural themes that surround today's bicultural Latina. While there is a lot of pride in being a Latina, it's not always easy. We constantly experience ongoing “cultural cross roads” that aren’t always defined or discussed. The production embodied the "Latina experience" through a scripted performance that conveyed emotion, comedy and authenticity on culturally-relevant themes.

Roselyn Sanchez, LaLa Anthony and Adrienne Bailon were amongst the star studded VIP event.

Our OSS editor enjoyed some sangria at the “Chica Nights Out” beauty bar and had a chance to mingle with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez and LaLa Anthony before the show…. By the way, Thank you Olay, Venus, Clairol, Tide and Pantene for the goodies!

When we asked LaLa how she felt about being part of this movement, her response was:

"I feel so honored and I’m happy to be here…This is me! We come in all shades, we don’t all look the same and I’m happy to be part of that!”

We were all later ushered to the theater to see the live production of the Nueva Latina Monologues. Angie Martinez introduced Linda Nieves-Powel to the stage, she explained how this project means a lot to her since she dedicated most of her career writing about the evolution and duality of a Latina living in the US.
At the end of the day “being Latina is not measured by how well you speak Spanish, dance to music or cook food but by the Orgullo (pride) you feel in your heritage and culture!” – Orgullosa
Couldn’t have said it better!
So to all my bicultural ladies make sure you are una mujer con la falda bien puesta!  And remember you have the best upbringing from both worlds, consider yourself lucky!

;)
XO!

Official OR-G NYC Launch Party

Video Song: "I'm Sexy and I Know It" - LMFAO
_______________________________________________________________

Last week we had the pleasure of attending the official NYC launch party for OR-G Vodka at trendy SoHo lounge, W.i.P. (Work In Progress)

OR-G (aka the OFFICIAL Spirit of the Female Entourage) is a tempting blend of Ultra-Premium Vodka and persimmon (an exotic tropical fruit that resembles a tomato and is sweet) fused with papaya, mango and lime juices...yumm! This delicious concoction was created by Master Spirit maker Jean Marc Daucourt.  Not only is OR-G's exotic design intended to deliver an amazing taste, but it also adds a sensuality to your drinking experience. While OR-G is perfect by itself, its also highly mixable, lending itself to a variety of sexy cocktail creations...for instance The Affair - 2 parts OR-G and 1 part Voli Vodka, The Quickie - 1 part OR-G and 2 parts 901 Tequila or The Mistress - 1 part OR-G and 2 parts Rose Champagne. So be sure to summon your inner mixologist and pair OR-G with your favorite spirit to add that little extra pop! you need to get the party started.

The launch party was hosted by television personality Adrienne Bailon and Love and Hip Hop star Emily B, who both looked great in turquoise. Guests were greeted by the OR-G Angels, danced to the sounds of Roxy Cottontail and Miss Saigon and, of course, sipped on various OR-G signature cocktails. The two hosts served up a fun night for all their guests including, DJ Tony Touch, Hot 97's Angie Martinez, DJ Juanyto, Def Jam executive Shawn "Pecas" Costner, ANTM Alum Eugena Washington, model/actress Liris Crosse and boxer Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin.

Planning a ladies night (passion party... wink wink) with your homegirls? Be sure to bring the OR-G for an amazing time (click here to find out where to buy)! Remember to #partyprovocatively...and responsibly, of course!
